Artist statement: Sheer fabric overlays actual pages from The New York Times’ coverage of the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas. The papers will yellow and tear to show the passage of time while we take no action on gun violence. This is a piece from my Victims Quilt Project, which includes 16 memorial quilts for the victims of mass shootings during the past 20 years in which more than ten people were massacred at once.
